Question: Share your favorite literary quote!

I have so many! Here are my top 3 :)

"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."

― Jane Austen, Pride and Prejudice

This one is the first one I thought of after reading this prompt. I am not even sure exactly why, but this quote always stood out to me. This is the first sentence in Pride and Prejudice. Whenever I am having a bad day or am in a really bad reading rut, I turn to Pride and Prejudice. I have only ever finished the book once, but no matter how far I get, be it the first sentence or almost the end, it always makes me feel better!

*This next quote is the last paragraph of Delirium. I don't consider this to have any spoilers, but it is the last paragraph, so if you plan on reading this book or are reading and have not completed it, read at your own risk!

"You have to understand. I am no one special. I am just a single girl. I am five feet two inches tall and I am in-between in every way. But I have a secret. You can build walls all the way to the sky and I will find a way to fly above them. You can try to pin me down with a hundred thousand arms, but I will find a way to resist. And there are many of us out there, more than you think. People who refuse to stop believing. People who refuse to come to earth. People who love in a world without walls, people who love into hate, into refusal, against hope, and without fear. I love you. Remember. They cannot take it.”

― Lauren Oliver, Delirium.

Everything about Lauren Oliver's writing is beautiful. I was compelled to read, not only because of the story, but because of her writing. It captivated me and I just could not stop reading! This paragraph is my favorite, I feel like I can relate to certain parts of it, and in other ways I aspire to be more like this character. I want to have the strength and determination to achieve my goals and love without fear.

“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?”

― J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

And of course, the obligatory Harry Potter quote! But for real guys, this quote is just so great, especially for us readers! When I read a book, my boyfriend is always making fun of me for laughing as hard as I do, for crying, and yelling at my book. To me, just because a book is not always telling a true story, there is always someone who can relate to it or who uses a great book as a way to escape reality. Just because it is happening inside of my head, does not always mean it is not real.

What are your favorite literary quotes??

  14. I have a little book that I keep all my favourite literary quotes, but I think my all-time favourite would definitely have to be from Dumbledore. "It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities." I don't know that it gets much better than that!

Wonderful pick! I'm your newest follower via Bloglovin' and GFC :)

  26. Your choices are fantastic. My mind immediately went to the Pride and Prejudice quote too and I'm not sure why I didn't post it, but I went with a different one. Lauren Oliver's writing is beautiful, and that passage says so much about strength in any individual. Plus, I really like what you said about the Harry Potter quote! 33. A clock or watch can contain an extremely small chanel replica and relatively simple antenna and receiver to decode the information in the signal and set the clock's time accurately. All that you have to do is set replica watches the time zone, and the clock can display a very accurate time. The only thing more accurate that you can carry around easily is a GPS receiver, which derives atomic clock accuracy replica handbags in real time from the atomic clocks in orbiting GPS satellites. See How GPS Receivers Work http://www.55kipcenter.org/contact.html for details.
