<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">This week's topic is top best and or worse book to movie adaptions. I will be doing my Top 5 Best and Worse! I know I am a little late, but better late than never :)</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Top 5 Best:</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin - I actually saw this movie first and love the book and movie equally. They are on the top of my book/movie lists</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins - This movie was so good, I cannot wait for Catching Fire! It looks like it will be so good :)</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3) The Help by </span></span><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"> Kathryn Stockett - I read the book and then watched the movie as soon as I was done. I thought they did a really good job with this movie and I love the cast!</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4) The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen </span></span><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Chbosky - I watched this movie a few months after reading the book. I have a terrible memory so I do not remember exactly how similar the movie was to the book but I do remember sitting in awe at the end of the movie. I really loved both the movie and book. </span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5) The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald - I read this book about 6 years ago so I did not remember anything about the book other than it was really good. So I am not sure just how much alike they are but the movie was just so dang good!</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Top 3 Worst:</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1) Twilight by Stephanie Meyer - I really did enjoy the books, well the first two <i>maybe</i> 3. The movie ruined the books! They were really entertaining but not because of their great quality, actually quite the opposite. They were horrible, but their awfulness made them really funny!</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2) Beautiful Creatures by </span></span><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Kami Garcia - I had to turn this one off before I finished it, it was terrible. </span></span><br />
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">3) The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants - I love the books and the movies, but I have to think of them as two separate things that are not related. </span></span><br />
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">I know, I know.. I only did 3 bad ones. I am sure I will come up with a ton more for this category once I read through everyone else's list, but as of right now this is all I can think of!</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Whats on your list?</span></span><br />

Some series get worse, and some get better. This one is </span></span><span style="line-height: 18px;">definitely</span><span style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, Palatino Linotype, Palatino, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"> getting better. As I read this series I see so many different ways this story could go, and everything I think will happen doesn't. Which makes me love this!</span></span></span></div>
<div>
<br />

<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><b><u>Things I enjoyed about this book:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Alternating time.</b> This book alternates between Now and Then. I was hesitant at first because I really just wanted to know what happens in the Then story. Usually, when there are alternating POV I favor one and push through the other but with this book I was equally enjoying both! It gave us a good look into how Lena got to where she is and her journey into the Wilds, but you were also getting to see what was happening now after the Wilds! I felt like I was somehow cheating the system and getting to read two books at once. It was awesome :)</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Julian. </b> This one you will also see in the <i>things I didn't like about the book</i>. But on the positive side, I really like Julian and I really want everything to work out for them!! He is the one who pulls her out of her greif of losing Alex, he is so sweet and has really won my heart. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>-Intense.</b> Once I start a series, I do not read the synopsis for the rest of the books, I just start the book and follow where it takes me. So I had no idea what to expect, no clue where this story would go. I was so surprised and really got addicted to this story! I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Julian & Alex. </b>I totally loved Alex in Delirium so when I finished the book, I was positive he would be back. No way would the author actually kill off one of the main characters. But he really is gone. And that made me so sad! Like seriously guys, I cried and then flipped through the book to see if he ever came back. (Yes, I am ashamed. But I am telling you because I really want you to understand how hard losing Alex was for me). Now that you know how much I loved Alex, I hope you can understand how difficult it was to get me to accept and root for Julian. Insanely difficult. You would think all of this was happening to me. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<br /></div>

<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><u>Overall:</u> So far I am really loving this series! I am FINALLY starting Requiem. (I actually finished this book about two weeks ago, but have been sooo busy I have not had time to write this review!) I have been so nervous to finish the series, I want to love it and I know some people have not loved it. But I finally found my metaphorical balls and am reading it!</span></div>

<b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Question:</span></b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>Today’s is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government. </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I am going to have to give three books, because I can NEVER pick one when asked to list a favorite haha. So my top 3 books that have to do with war are Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, and Divergent! Harry Potter is a given, I think most questions can be answered with Harry Potter. The Hunger Games and Divergent are more of dystopian and less of traditional war but there is definitely war and government overthrowing happening! What books did you pick??</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Top Ten Most Intimidating Books (might be intimated by size, content, that everyone else loves it but you are sure you won't etc)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Some of these intimidate me because I am afraid I will not like them as much as I am hoping to such as The Night Circus and Lola, some I am afraid to finish because I don't want to be done with the series, Requiem, and others are just flat out scary...classics. All of these I really want to read but I have been putting off because i am a wimp.</span><br />

<div>
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">OH. MY. GOODNESS. I can't believe it took me so long to read this book! It was so good! And Lauren Oliver's writing is brilliant. This book is so creative, I wish I could meet Lauren Oliver and pick apart her brain and ask her all kinds of questions about this book! At first, in the beginning of the book, I had a hard time accepting this world that the characters are living in, but Lauren does such a good job of explaining how everything works. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Seriously though, I freaked out so many times while reading this book. All of my reading friends are far away and I don't think they have read this book before. I really needed someone to talk to so I ended up making boyfriend come sit with me so I could explain this story and how amazing it is. I loved it, I am not even talking about the story, just fangirl-ing all over the place...take a breath, Amber.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">For those of you who have read it... the last paragraph! I always hate the last few pages of books, they always seem like meaningless words thrown together just because you can't end a book in the middle a story. You have to have a end, that was what we learned in the first grade. But this last paragraph was so good! I didn't feel like I was getting some crap that made me feel distanced from the story. This pulled me in even more and totally captivated me. UNTIL THE LAST WORD. Amazing. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><b><u>Things I enjoyed about this book:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>I had no idea what was coming.</b> There would be certain parts of the book and I would be freaking out because I thought one thing was going to happen and then it turned out completely opposite. And there are just so many twists and turns that no one could really see coming. It is a great book and keeps you on your toes the whole time!</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Great world building, I really feel like I am there. </b> When I first started reading I had a really hard time accepting this world because love is such a common thing for me. It is something I feel and openly express several times a day and so many of my decisions are driven by love that I cannot fathom living in a society where love is seen as a disease. Every time something would happen, I would have to sit and really think about it trying to see it as a person living in this world. But the world building was so great that I was eased into it and got a little more understanding with the little bits of information at the beginning of each chapter. By the time I was done with the book, I was so immersed in this book that every time I think of the word love, I am taken back into this world. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Such a creative idea for a book, Lauren Oliver... you are a genius. </b>I was reading through the interview questions in the back of the book and one of them asked how Lauren came up with this subject for a book. I don't remember all the details, but she had read an essay about love and its influence on books and was thinking about that at the gym later when she saw something about a flu epidemic. Somehow the two things combined and here we are now reading Delirium. And even now after hearing about that, I am still in awe. It was such an amazing story, and the writing in it is beautiful. You really just want to keep reading! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u>Things I <strike>didn't like</strike> want to know more about:</u></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;">*There is nothing I did not like about this book, but I do have so many questions and things I just want to throw out there, so I will list a few of them here:)</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Grace!</b> I love her so much! I have loved her since she was first introduced, I am not quite sure why. Well, obviously she is introduced as a character we like because of her bond with Lena. But she automatically stood out to me as one of the characters I would love. and I was right :) I cannot wait to see what happens with her, if anything (hopefully yes!) in the rest of this story. I really love her and I hope that she returns in Pandemonium and Requiem. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>I still want to know so much more about their world. </b>One thing that I had to really sit and debate with myself was how many emotions they do have and to what extent to the people in this society feel these emotions. For example, when talking about the girl who was removed from school and cured early because she was found with a boy, they mention how family's house had been graffitied. But when I read about how their emotions are removed or controlled by the procedure, I struggled to understand how these people who walked through everything in a hazy state, woke up and felt enough hatred. To me that is a form of passion for something, in this case for the government and their society's structure and removal of love. So if they can have such strong feelings for some things and walk through life like they are sleeping the rest of the time, how does that work? I am assuming that somehow in the cure, they manage to leave fear intact since that seems to be how the government keeps its control over their people. But still, I would love to know more about how all of this works!!</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><u>Overall: </u> If you cannot tell I loved this book. Like seriously guys. It is awesome. And I have heard that so many times before, and I believed it but I did not feel the need to pick it up right away. I should have. So now I tell you, if you have not read this book, do it. </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><b>Have you read Delirium? What did you think about it?</b></span><br />

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I LOVE THIS BOOK SO SOOOO MUCH!! All I have been thinking about since I read this book is 1) How awesome it was 2) How I really <i>really</i> need to read Lola and the Boy Next Door and finally 3) I need to go to Paris. NOW. Like for real guys, I finished this book in the early afternoon-ish, then spent my entire afternoon looking up flight and hotel info to Paris. Now my savings account is titled "TRIP TO PARIS <3" and I have decided to set a specific amount of money out of each paycheck to save up. Unfortunately, I have small paychecks so it will take me a while to get there, but it will happen!! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Anyway, y'all probably don't care about my money situation so I'll drop it. You want to hear about this wonderful, amazing book :) Honestly, I was really nervous to start it. I have heard so many great things about this book and nobody I have talked to did not love it. But lately I have been in a bit of a reading rut. I am still reading and I really want to be enjoying it, but I have not been <i>really loving</i> the books I have been reading. They were alright, just nothing that really made me feel passionate about reading. So I was really afraid that that would happen with this book. I had such high hopes for it! I mean who wouldn't? Teen love, Paris, boarding school (I don't know why but I love reading about girls who attend boarding schools)! Thankfully, this book met all the very, <b>VERY</b> high expectations I had for it.</span></div>
<div>
<br />

<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><b><u>Things I enjoyed about this book:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Y'all.</b> If you have not noticed by now I say y'all a lot. It is a regular word in my vocabulary and I don't even notice when it is used. So when Anna said y'all in the book and everyone laughed at her, I had to back track and reread to catch it. I love that she says this. I don't know why, but it was just one of those things that made me smile :)</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>World building. </b> I don't usually comment on world building, just because I don't always notice it. It is important but it is not really my main priority. But this book really made me second think that and appreciate a good book with good world building. Since I have never been to Paris, and I really dont know anything about Paris other than Oui and the have the Eifel Tower (a lot like Anna in the beginning of the book!), I really did not have a good solid picture of Paris in my head. And I really enjoyed reading about everything that was around here and learning about some of the history there. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Character growth.</b> This is another thing that I don't always notice. I mean if a character starts out whiny and bratty and ends the book the same way I notice, but usually as long as there is a small change I am pretty accepting of whatever I am told. But in this book you really got to see the characters grow and learn about themselves. It was really obvious to me in this book, and it made me love this book so much more. Anna is such a great character and I felt like she was possibly a real person and I would totally be her friend!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>-Everything.</b> It was funny, adventurous, made me really feel like I was there. I cant even form coherent thoughts anymore, I should probably take a break because I am getting extra fangirly! </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>-Their friendship grows into love. </b>Okay, break was good, I'm a normal person again :) So another thing I really liked (okay <i>loved) </i>about this book was how Anna and Etienne's (I prefer this name to St. Clare) relationship started out as a friendship. It went through all the awkward stages expected in real life, especially since he had a girlfriend. they were friends, then they were awkward and liked each other and it continues to grow until they are best friends and more. To me, this is ideally how relationships should work (minus the gf of course). This growth of their relationship also showed the character growth. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u>Things I didn't like about this book:</u></b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Yeah right.</b> I loved this book, everything about it. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Lola? </b> This is not, at all, a complaint or something I didn't like. I just wanted something in this section. But, I kept waiting to meet Lola from the next book and I never did, at least I don't remember meeting her. So I am curious how she is related to the series. Naturally, I would read the book to find out, but I don't get paid until Friday so, yeahhh...</span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><u>Overall:</u> Not only is this a really fun book that takes place in PARIS, but it is also written really well. I am a terrible writer, all my thoughts are jumbled around (notice the random order of my bullet points above), and I have a very limited vocabulary, so it really does not take much to impress me. Just give me a cute story and I'll enjoy it, written well or not. But this book really makes me feel like I should have higher standards for my books because this has it all. Really, it does. I loved it and you will to! 5 big, bright and shiny stars! </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
<b>Question: Share your favorite literary quote! </b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
I have so many! Here are my top 3 :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
<b style="font-style: italic;">"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife."</b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="font-style: italic;"> </span><i>― </i>Jane Austen, <i>Pride and Prejudice</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
This one is the first one I thought of after reading this prompt. I am not even sure exactly why, but this quote always stood out to me. This is the first sentence in <i>Pride and Prejudice</i>. Whenever I am having a bad day or am in a really bad reading rut, I turn to <i>Pride and Prejudice</i>. I have only ever finished the book once, but no matter how far I get, be it the first sentence or almost the end, it always makes me feel better!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
*This next quote is the last paragraph of <i>Delirium</i>. I don't consider this to have any spoilers, but it is the last paragraph, so if you plan on reading this book or are reading and have not completed it, read at your own risk!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
<i><b>"You have to understand. I am no one special. I am just a single girl. I am five feet two inches tall and I am in-between in every way. But I have a secret. You can build walls all the way to the sky and I will find a way to fly above them. You can try to pin me down with a hundred thousand arms, but I will find a way to resist. And there are many of us out there, more than you think. People who refuse to stop believing. People who refuse to come to earth. People who love in a world without walls, people who love into hate, into refusal, against hope,and without fear. I love you. Remember. They cannot take it.” </b></i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>― </i>Lauren Oliver, <i>Delirium.</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><br /></i>
Everything about Lauren Oliver's writing is beautiful. I was compelled to read, not only because of the story, but because of her writing. It captivated me and I just could not stop reading! This paragraph is my favorite, I feel like I can relate to certain parts of it, and in other ways I aspire to be more like this character. I want to have the strength and determination to achieve my goals and love without fear. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br />
<b><i>“Of course it is happening inside your head, Harry, but why on earth should that mean that it is not real?” </i></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">― J.K. Rowling, <i>Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows</i></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i><br /></i>
And of course, the obligatory Harry Potter quote! But for real guys, this quote is just so great, especially for us readers! When I read a book, my boyfriend is always making fun of me for laughing as hard as I do, for crying, and yelling at my book. To me, just because a book is not always telling a true story, there is always someone who can relate to it or who uses a great book as a way to escape reality. Just because it is happening inside of my head, does not always mean it is not real. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">What are your favorite literary quotes??</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Bliss Edwards is about to graduate from college and still has hers. Sick of being the only virgin among her friends, she decides the best way to deal with the problem is to lose it as quickly and simply as possible-- a one-night stand. But her plan turns out to be anything but simple when she freaks out and leaves a gorgeous guy alone and naked in her bed with an excuse that no one with half-a-brain would ever believe. And as if that weren’t embarrassing enough, when she arrives for her first class of her last college semester, she recognizes her new theatre professor. She’d left him naked in her bed about 8 hours earlier."</span></div>

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I really loved this book! The main character, Bliss, is on a mission to lose her virginity. Actually her BFF is on a mission to get Bliss to lose her virginity. So in an attempt to make this happen, she meets this really hot, British guy reading Shakespeare in a bar. Honestly, any guy reading in a bar would probably do it for me... add in an accent and I'm sold. But this is not about me and my odd reading habits Anyway, a terrible excuse and 8 hours later Bliss walks into her final semester of classes and who is the professor? The really hot, British guy she left in her bed last night. Can't go wrong with this book!</span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><b><u>Things I enjoyed about this book:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Theater majors.</b> Theater majors are always hysterical. They are dramatic, loud, loving, and everything bold and enjoyable. At least the ones I know are. And thats how these characters were! I loved reading about them, plus when you read about their classes, it is not like reading about someone taking a boring calc class. They were in a directing class and senior prep for life after graduation. I thought it was entertaining! </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Bliss is totally socially awkward and nerdy, just like me.</b> Okay, maybe not <i>just like me</i> but close enough to where I felt I could relate to the character. She always thinks too much or says the wrong thing and I know all to well how awkward that makes a situation. And she is a TERRIBLE liar. Prepare to be amused :)</span><br />

<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>-There's not really anything I didn't like about this book. </b>I know that is lame. I like to have at least one thing that can critique because very few things are perfect and the beauty of books is that we can all interpret them differently or form our own opinions. But I really didn't have anything against this book. I really enjoyed it! </span></div>

<b>Goodreads Summary</b>: "Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.<br />
<br />
Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel."<br />

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Nothing much exciting rolls through Violet White’s sleepy, seaside town…until River West comes along. River rents the guesthouse behind Violet’s crumbling estate, and as eerie, grim things start to happen, Violet begins to wonder about the boy living in her backyard. Is River just a crooked-smiling liar with pretty eyes and a mysterious past? Or could he be something more? Violet’s grandmother always warned her about the Devil, but she never said he could be a dark-haired boy who takes naps in the sun, who likes coffee, who kisses you in a cemetery...who makes you want to kiss back. Violet’s already so knee-deep in love, she can’t see straight. And that’s just how River likes it.</div>

Blending faded decadence and the thrilling dread of gothic horror, April Genevieve Tucholke weaves a dreamy, twisting contemporary romance, as gorgeously told as it is terrifying—a debut to watch."</div>

<b>Release Date:</b> May 21st 2013 by Simon Pulse<br />
<b>Goodreads Summary:</b> "Jude has learned a lot from her older sisters, but the most important thing is this: The Vargas brothers are notorious heartbreakers. She’s seen the tears and disasters that dating a Vargas boy can cause, and she swore an oath—with candles and a contract and everything—to never have anything to do with one.<br />
<br />
Now Jude is the only sister still living at home, and she’s spending the summer helping her ailing father restore his vintage motorcycle—which means hiring a mechanic to help out. Is it Jude’s fault he happens to be cute? And surprisingly sweet? And a Vargas?<br />
<br />
Jude tells herself it’s strictly bike business with Emilio. Her sisters will never find out, and Jude can spot those flirty little Vargas tricks a mile away—no way would she fall for them. But Jude’s defenses are crumbling, and if history is destined to repeat itself, she’s speeding toward some serious heartbreak…unless her sisters were wrong?<br />
<br />
Jude may have taken an oath, but she’s beginning to think that when it comes to love, some promises might be worth breaking."<br />

<b>Goodreads Summary:</b> "For twenty-one-year-old Sydney, being in love with Kyler isn't anything new. They'd been best friends ever since he pushed her down on the playground and she made him eat a mud pie. Somewhere over the years, she fell for him and fell hard. The big problem with that? Kyler puts the 'man' in man-whore. He's never stayed with a girl longer than a few nights, and with it being their last year in college, Syd doesn't want to risk their friendship by declaring her love.<br />
<br />
Kyler has always put Syd on a pedestal that was too high for him to reach. To him, she's perfect and she's everything. But the feelings he has for her, he's always hidden away or focused on any other female. After all, Kyler will always be the poor boy from the wrong side of tracks, and Syd will always be the one girl he can never have.<br />
<br />
But when they're stranded together at a posh ski resort due to a massive Nor'easter, there's nothing stopping their red-hot feelings for each other from coming to the surface. Can their friendship survive the attraction? Better yet, can they survive at all? Because as the snow falls, someone is stalking them, and this ski trip may be a life-changer in more ways than one."Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07564591028984253100noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702137484923433330.post-78483501551128459122013-06-17T16:10:00.000-07:002013-06-17T16:14:16.973-07:00FRIGID CHAPTER REVEAL :) Hey guys, so chances are you have already seen this, and I am sorry I am so late!! <span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><b><u>My thoughts:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">I don't know why, but I did not really read about this book before I started it. Well, thats not entirely true, I read the synopsis a while ago when I first marked this book as a TBR but when I picked it up, I just knew I wanted to read it, I did not remember what it was about. I kept reading events that would happen in the book, like finding out her roommates payed the guy to have sex with her, and gasping at the horror! What terrible friends! And then later I read the synopsis and realized it was not supposed to be a big surprise, silly me!</span></span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><b><u>Things I enjoyed about this book:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>The family dynamics. </b>Both of their families are crazy, each in their own ways. It drove me nuts that their families are the way they are, but at the same time you can tell that even if they do not always do what I feel is right, they are caring for each other the only way they know how.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b>-</b><i>Rory's family</i>- Her dad is a scientist and would probably never talk to anyone if it wasn't for his social girlfriend. He is super awkward and avoids confrontation at all costs. He actually reminds me a lot of my dad and his side of the family (well, minus the science part). Anyway, even though he annoys me a lot in some parts, he is a father and is ultimately just trying to do what he feels is best for his daughter. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<i>Tyler's family</i>- When it comes to Tyler's family, I do not like his mom, at all. But then again I'm not supposed to... His little brothers are absolutely adorable and I kept hoping for Jessica and Riley to get together! I think they would be precious :) I really liked not only how Tyler and Riley take care of their family, but how they let Rory in. It made me love them even more. </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Stupid friends. </b> This is a topic that is on the things I like and the things I didn't like. On one hand, they are trying to help their friend. Well, I don't think being a virgin is a bad thing, but in their eyes they are trying to help her. They really just want her to open up and learn to take an active role in life and not just watch it pass you by. Which was really caring of them to care about, even if I do not agree with how they did it. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u>Things I didn't like about this book:</u></b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Get angry, girl!.</b> Her friends <i>paid someone to have sex with her. </i>If my friends did this and I found out about it like Rory, these girls would be going through hell. Of course I would forgive them, but let them know that what they did was wrong! Yes, I also understand this comes back to her not being confrontational, but still. Make them sweat a little!</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Don't try to make decisions for her. </b> I HATE when people try to make decisions based on what they think is right for me without even discussing it with me. Tyler tries to do this throughout the entire book, always saying he is not good enough for her. Rory is a big girl, let her decide what is good for her! </span></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><u>Overall: </u> I recommend this book! It is a great read for those who are looking for a good NA. My issues with the characters should not deter you from reading this book.. as annoying as it was, it was necessary for the story line! Also, this book is about a girl whose friends set her up to lose her virginity, but for those worried, there is not a lot of graphic sexual content so if your not into that, don't worry!</span></div>
<div style="font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>

<b>This weeks question is: AN ACTIVITY! Spine Poetry. Create a line of poetry with your book spines (take a picture). Not feeling creative? Tell us about your favorite poem.</b></span><br />
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So, I am really not very good with poetry or creativity unfortunately, so in my head this makes perfect sense, but if not to you...just go with it for me :)</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Also, my book collection is not nearly as big as some of you other awesome bloggers and most of my recent books have been ebooks so I have not been adding to my collection. So I am adding in a few little words to make my poetry make a little more sense.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>

<a href="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BMsetGiCMAAe63z.jpg:large" imageanchor="1" style="clear: left; float: left; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BMsetGiCMAAe63z.jpg:large" width="238" /></a><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"></span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">
</span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">
</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">The Night Circus</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<b><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A beautiful darkness,</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">When it happens, just listen.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">In the shadowland, a new moon is chosen.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Hush, hush... </span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Sweet dreams.</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Because I feel this makes no sense to anyone other than me... here was my thought process. It is titled by the book The Night Circus. In this poem the night circus, is your dreams. So line by line:</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><b><i>The Night Circus</i></b> - dreaming</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>A beautiful darkness </i>- nighttime, right before you finally (at least in my case) fall asleep</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>When it happens, just listen</i>. - dont fight it, observe, accept your dreams, welcome them </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>In the shadowland, a new moon is chosen.</i> - something new in your dreams, a new beginning, exciting, refreshing</span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Hush, hush...</i> - don't over think it, quiet your thoughts </span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><i>Sweet dreams. - </i>sweet dreams! this is technically Swede Dreams but sweet went better.</span></div>
</div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">So, don't judge me if you think this is terrible! I read, not write. All writers are readers, but unfortunately not all readers make good writers. I promise not to judge your poem if you are shy about it as well :) </span></div>

<br />
<b><u>My Thoughts:</u></b><br />
I love Colleen Hoover! As of now, I have finished the whole series, and it is so good! I could not imagined a better story, so thank you Colleen Hoover for this awesome series :) This book is a continuation of Will and Layken's story but told through Will's point of view. Now, they can finally be together.. YAYYYY! But, since this is a book and there would be no story without some drama... prepare yourself.<br />
<br />
<b><u>Things I liked about this book:</u></b><br />
-<b>It was from Will's POV.</b> I always loved Will, and now we get to see their relationship from his perspective. This book we get more of their personal life, since it is not them hiding their relationship at school. We get to see them act as a family, that was one of my favorite parts!<br />
<br />
-<b>I loved the secondary characters! </b>Although most of them we already know, like Eddie & Gavin, Kel & Caulder, Kierston (the crazy neighbor kid)! You get to see them all grow together. Also, they are never forgotten about and they have their own story lines too!<br />
<br />
-<b>Butterfly yourself, carving pumpkins, & the point of retreat. </b>You guys should already know what carving pumpkins means, assuming you have read Slammed. Butterfly yourself and point of retreat are things you learn about in this book. I love how they have their own language (kind of) and these phrases mean so much to them. It is hard to explain but it just gives you that extra sense of love all the characters have for each other.<br />
<b><u><br /></u></b>
<b><u>Things I didn't like about this book:</u></b><br />
-Nothing. Sorry guys, that is a lame answer, I know. But I really did love this series and I do not have any complaints! So go read it now :)<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="font-size: large;"><b>Have you read Point of Retreat? What did you think??</b></span><br />
<span style="font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">It's Tuesday :) TOP TEN TUESDAY! This week is top ten beach reads! I am excited to see what everyone puts as their beach reads. For me a beach read is something light and funny, although the occasional book with a little less lightness and a little more emotion is also appreciated! I feel like a lot of these books are in all of my lists so I am trying to change it up but I am sorry if you keep seeing the same 10 books in my top ten lists! In no particular order, here is my top ten list!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">1)<b> <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/9681214-the-goddess-test" target="_blank"><i>The Goddess Test</i> by Aimee Carter</a></b>: Mythology, a hot god of the Underworld, and a mystery! To me this is a great combo for a beach book. Check out my review <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/04/review-goddess-test-by-aimee-carter.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">2)<b> <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15858248-wallbanger" target="_blank"><i>Wallbanger</i> by Alice Clayton</a>:</b> If you have read my review, you know I feel that this unfortunatley fizzled out toward the end. The book as a whole was great and the first half had me crying I was laughing so hard. Check out my review <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/04/wallbanger-reviewreview-wallbanger-by.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">3) <b><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17332551-true" target="_blank"><i>True </i>by Erin McCarthy</a></b>: I didn't know about this until NetGalley, and I am so happy I found it! I just finished it yesterday (Sunday) and really enjoyed it. This is a NA novel about a girl whose friends pay someone to take Rory's, the main character, virginity. I think you can figure out how this all works out... Review is on it's way :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">4) <b><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10507293-the-selection" target="_blank"><i>The Selection</i> by Kiera Cass</a></b>: This is a dystopian, which I would not normally categorize as summery or beachy, but this one is as fluffy as a dystopian can get! I like it for summer because it is not the stereotypical contemporary (which are awesome) but it still is light and fun :) Check out my review <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/04/review-selection-selection-1-by-kiera.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">5) <b><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16030680-burning" target="_blank"><i>Burning </i>by Elana K Arnold:</a> </b>This is a contemporary but it is not as light and fluffy as some others. It is a book about a summer love between a gypsy girl and a small town boy going off to college. The narration switches and tells the story of each of the two main characters. It is a fascinating story and I really recommend it to everyone for a beach read! Check out my <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/05/burning-by-elana-k-arnold-review.html" target="_blank">review</a> & <b><a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/06/giveaway.html" target="_blank">giveaway!</a></b></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">6) <b><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13372690-slammed" target="_blank"><i>Slammed</i> by Colleen Hoover:</a></b> This book has it all. I was crying, laughing, and everthing in between. This book easliy became on of my top all time favorites! If you have not read this yet, please do! Check out my review <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-slammed-by-colleen-hoover.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">7) <b><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/16070903-fallen-too-far" target="_blank">Fallen Too Far Series by Abbi Glines</a></b>: I cannot just say the first or just the second book because I did not like the first one on its own, but the entire (well, the first two) series together is a favorite! I really loved this story and can't wait to see how it ends! If you plan to read the first, prepare to read the second immediately after!! Check out my review <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-fallen-too-far.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">8) <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/author/show/2987.Sarah_Dessen" target="_blank"><b>Sarah Dessen... </b></a>Yes I realize I only put an author. I have not read all of her books yet but the ones I have read are awesome, the perfect summer read! I really love Sarah Dessen, I am thinking I need to reread one of them.. probably <i>The Truth About Forever</i>! That is my favorite of hers :)</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">9) <b><a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/10194632-spies-and-prejudice" target="_blank"><i>Spies & Prejudice</i> by Talia Vance</a></b>: I loved this book, it was fun, there was romance, and it was basically Veronica Mars in book form! I got this as a eARC from NetGalley. Everyone should definitely put this on their TBR list. Check out my review <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-spies-prejudice.html" target="_blank">HERE</a>.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">10)<a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13335037-divergent" target="_blank"> <b><i>Divergent</i> by Veronica Roth</b></a>: This book is not much of a beach read but it is the book that got me reading again so it makes the list :) This would be one of those few random books that are not light or fluffy but they are so intense and gripping that you read it all in one sitting, then go buy the second book, Insurgent, and repeat. The slowly die waiting for Allegiant. Everyone go read this now!</span>Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/07564591028984253100noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4702137484923433330.post-22780314378976211842013-06-10T20:17:00.000-07:002013-06-10T20:19:56.513-07:00Giveaway!!Hey guys! <span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: medium;"><span style="color: #252525;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Yes, unfortunately. One of those would be the <i>House of Night</i> books by P.C. Cast. I really loved the first few books and then I got tired of the main character. I really want to figure out how these books play out so after they are all complete I will probably buy the rest of them and read them. </span></span></span><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: medium; line-height: 18px;">Another is the <i>Stephanie Plum</i> series by Janet Evanovich. I love these books, so I didn't stop reading them because I was not enjoying them, but as of right now there are 19 books out! That's a lot of books. I plan on reading them all eventually but after reading 11 1/2 in a row, I needed to take a break and see other people.</span></div>

<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif; font-size: medium; line-height: 18px;">Once upon a time, I was in a very <b>committed relationship</b> with the <i>Twilight</i> series by Stephanie Meyer. I read all the books and as I finished each book, I got a little more depressed. This relationship did not end well. Me and Breaking Dawn are not on speaking terms. This book was terrible, and because of it I had to give up my love for this series and explore all the other fish in the sea, there has to be better out there! </span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Ohhh, I like this quesiton :) Lets see... I would love to meet anyone from <a href="http://www.brokeandbookish.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">The Broke and the Bookish</a>. I had found a few book blogs and had started reading around them, but this is the one I kept coming back to! I would say they are the reason I started book blogging. If I had to pick one I suppose I would pick Jamie, who also has her own blog at <a href="http://www.perpetualpageturner.com/" target="_blank">The Perpetual Page-Turner</a>. I enjoy reading her personal blog a lot as well as TBATB.</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">One more that I will add is actually a vlog, rather than a blog, but I love it just the same. Her name is Hannah and her youtube channel is <a href="http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoA75xVmFBfMfQJNCVBhTwQ" target="_blank">Bookworms Talk</a>. One day I was online looking up the Divergent series. This was the first book I have read ALL year, so you could say Divergent and Insurgent are the two books that really got me going on reading again. Anyway, I got the bright idea to check out youtube to see if anyone had posted a review to discover that there is an entire booktube community! It is from this community that I discovered book blogging so I own this bunch a big thank you! Hanna's channel is the first one I found and still my favorite to watch :) Go check her out if you get the chance!</span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px; text-align: left;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">If I had the chance to meet any of these wonderful people, I would probably fangirl like crazy. To me these people are right up there with the authors on the cool scale! Hope you guys have a great Friday :)</span></div>

<u><b>Goodreads Summary:</b></u></div>
</div>
<u><b><br /></b></u>
"<strong style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">Ben</strong><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">: Having just graduated from high school, Ben is set to leave Gypsum, Nevada. It's good timing since the gypsum mine that is the lifeblood of the area is closing, shutting the whole town down with it. Ben is lucky: he's headed to San Diego, where he's got a track scholarship at the University of California. But his best friends, Pete and Hog Boy, don't have college to look forward to, so to make them happy, Ben goes with them to check out the hot chick parked on the side of Highway 447. </span><br />
<br style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;" />
<strong style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">Lala</strong><span style="background-color: white; color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">: She and her Gypsy family earn money by telling fortunes. Some customers choose Tarot cards; others have their palms read. The thousands of people attending the nearby Burning Man festival spend lots of cash--especially as Lala gives uncanny readings. But lately Lala's been questioning whether there might be more to life than her upcoming arranged marriage. And the day she reads Ben's cards is the day that everything changes for her. . . and for him."</span><br />

</div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;">This book was definitely not what I expected, but it was a great surprise! When I first finished the book I just kind of sat there for a few minuets taking it all in. The longer I look back on the book, the more I love it! I thought it was going to be some frilly summer romance (which I love) but this was so much more. </span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span></div>

<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><b><u>Things I loved about this book:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><b>-Thought provoking. </b>This I really didn't expect. I went into reading <i>Burning </i>and thought it would be an easy, breezy summer read. All fluff and nothing else. I was so wrong! At first I was not sure what to think because I was not prepared for a book that would make me think, but it was such a perfect summer book! Although it was not just a light, fluffy read (which is my usual summer pick) I am so happy I picked it up! It has the perfect mix of summer love and growing up!</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><b>-Two stories in one.</b> This book is told in alternating points of view. This does not work for some books, but I really enjoyed it in this one. I can't decide which story I enjoyed more, Lala's or Ben's. They were both so great. Lala's story was telling the reader about a life I've never even though of, the life of a Gypsy. The culture differences and family dynamics are so different than what I am used to, it was a whole new world (cue Aladdin music). Ben's story was interesting as well. We really got to know about his friendships and his relationship with his brother. Normally I do not enjoy reading from a guy's point of view, but I really liked Ben as a character and loved reading about his story! Both of these stories come together and tell Ben and Lala's love story. </span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><b>-The cover is BEAUTIFUL! </b>Need I say more??</span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><b><u>Things I didn't love about this book:</u></b></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><b>-Lala. </b>You've got Ben, who is obviously the main guy in the book. And then you've got Lala, the girl. Lala. I tend to get stuck on names (if you have read my Spies & Prejudice review you know). So when I saw that the girl's name is Lala, I had a bit of a hard time. At first I though it was because she was a Gypsy. Maybe they all had different names? Nope, just her. The other Gypsies had some unusual ones, but they were mostly names I have seen before with cool spelling. I just couldn't get the name Lala. </span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="color: #181818; font-family: Georgia, serif;"><span style="font-size: 14px; line-height: 19px;"><b><u>Overall:</u></b> The only bad thing I really have to say about the book is that the girl's name is Lala. Other than that I really enjoyed reading <i>Burning</i>. It was a great book full of romance and lessons on growing up! I would recommend this to all readers looking for a good summer read :)</span></span></div>

I chose this because as I was walking through the bookstore today, I realized just how long it had been since I regularly read. Until today, it had roughly a year since I had purchased a paper copy of a book. Normally I prefer paper books, but since I have not had any spare money until last month when I started working, I have been reading books online and borrowing from friends. I really hate this, but its just how it has been lately. So anyway, other than a few books over Christmas break and summer, I have not been consistently reading for a few years, only picking up a book here and there. How depressing is that?? VERY. So because of that, I have lots and lots of books to catch up on! Here are the books on the top of my list that are not new releases! These are in order of my goodreads list, not priority!</span></span></span><br />

<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">Berry Fields is not looking for a boyfriend. She’s busy trailing cheaters and liars in her job as a private investigator, collecting evidence of the affairs she’s sure all men commit. And thanks to a pepper spray incident during an eighth grade game of spin the bottle, the guys at her school are not exactly lining up to date her, either. </span></span></div>

She’ll forget him in no time. She’s more concerned with the questions surfacing about her mother’s death. </span></span></div>

But why does Tanner seem to pop up everywhere in her investigation, always getting in her way? Is he trying to stop her from discovering the truth, or protecting her from an unknown threat? <span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Utopia, Palatino Linotype, Palatino, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">What a fun book! This was my first ARC to read and I was <i>super</i> excited about it. I discovered netgalley recently and requested A TON of books thinking I might get one or two of them... I got twelve. TWELVE. As escited as I am to have all these books, there is no way I will be reading them all right away because I already have other books to read as well! But anyway, this was at the top of my list of my netgalley books so as soon as I finished the Slammed series by Colleen Hoover, I picked this up! And I am so glad I did! This book is the perfect mix of cheese and suspense which, in my opinion, makes it the perfect summery read :)</span></span></div>

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Such a fun read!</b> I enjoyed this book so much. Especially because the series I just finished, although great, was a very heavy, emotional series. I was in need of a fun pick me up book and this was just it! It had its serious moments, for sure, but every time I <strike>was forced to</strike> had to put the book down, I was left with a smile while I tried to figure out what would happen next.</span></div>

Awesome TV show starring Kristen Bell (my girl crush) as a teen PI. Anyway, when looking into this book, somebody compared it to Veronica Mars which instantly made me request it on netgalley. I was afraid nothing could live up to the awesomeness of Veronica Mars, and while this is not quite it, it is probably the closest I will find. So for all you Veronica Mars fans out there, please read this! </span></div>
<div style="color: #252525; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #252525; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>A little bit of everything! </b>I really love when authors include a lot of different elements in their books. Some are just light and fluffy and some are just dark and depressing. This book is a good light summery spy mystery with just the perfect mix of emotion. The light, fun part, all the boy drama, the gay best friend, and cool spy stuff, mix in with Berry, the main character, trying to solve her mother's death and give us the perfect beach book!</span></div>
<div style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u>Things I didn't like about this book:</u></b></span></div>
<div style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif; line-height: 18px;">
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>The names, these poor girls. </b>The main character's name is Strawberry Fields and her best (girl) friend is Mary Chris Moss. Clearly these were intentional, and part of me finds it funny, but the other part of me just can't get passed the names. Every time I would read over their full names and not just their nick names (Berry & Mare) my mind was drawn away from the book and to their crazy names. It's really the only problem I had with the book. </span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></div>
<div style="font-family: Times;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>I kind of lost track of what was happening during the ending action scene. </b>I am thinking this is more of a personal issue, because it happens in all action packed books for me, but I couldn't follow exactly what was happening in the "final battle" as I like to think of it. You know, that scene at the end of all actiony-spy-mystery books where all hell breaks loose and some kind of action packed scene happens? I just lose track of what is happening, and then I get lost and just push through hoping it is all explained at the end. Like I said, probably a personal issue, but it still bothers me! If this happens to anyone else, please let me know so I know I am not alone!</span></div>
</div>
<div style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><b><u><br /></u></b></span></div>
<div style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Utopia, 'Palatino Linotype', Palatino, serif; line-height: 18px;">
<span style="font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Roman', serif;"><u><b>Overall:</b></u> With the exception of their names and my personal issues, I really enjoyed this book and give it 5 out of 5 stars! If you are looking for a good summer mystery type of book, or if you <i>loved</i> Veronica Mars, please read this. You will love it! It was great and took me no time to breeze through. The only times I put it down were for work and sleep. </span><br />

<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Yes, I realize this is really late. But... better late than never right?? Maybe.. Anyway, here is how my last week was :) </span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">I was not entirely successful goal wise, but I really enjoyed it and I think that's the most important part!</span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span>
<b><u><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Here were my goals:</span></u></b><br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">-<b>Read at least 4 books</b>. I read 3 1/2. I was sooo close! On saturday, when I planned to finish my book I ended up getting called into work all day so I was unable to finish reading my last book. Now that the read a thon is over I have kind of relaxed am taking my time with the book, This Girl by Colleen Hoover, but I should complete it this week :) The books I completed are <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-wait-for-you-by-j-lynn.html" target="_blank">Wait for You</a> by J. Lynn, <a href="http://nalasbookcorner.blogspot.com/2013/05/review-slammed-by-colleen-hoover.html" target="_blank">Slammed</a> and Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover. You can click on the title for my reviews of the first two!</span></span><br />
<span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><b>-Comment on 5 blogs participating each day.</b> I failed miserably at this one. I explored quite a few the first two days but after that, not so much. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><b>-Read at least 3 hours each day. </b>I did this every day except Saturday and Sunday. I expected it Sunday but Saturday ended up being a really long day so I didn't get to read much. </span><br style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><b>-Update daily on sidebar.</b> FAIL. I started to update it Monday and ended up deleting this whole little section.</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><b>-Post a review for each book I finish.</b> I am still working on my review for Point of Retreat and I have not yet completed This Girl so they are not up yet, but they will be within the week!</span><br style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;" /><span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><b>-Update twitter as often as I want :) (At least a few times a day).</b> I did this a lot the first few days and a lot less toward the end of the week. </span></span><div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div>
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Now that I am looking at this I don't think I completed any of my goals! But you know, to me its more about reading and having fun, not just the goals. Also, after doing this now I know what I need to do differently next time :)</span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;"><br /></span></span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">How did you guys do on your read a thon?</span></span></div>

This week's question is: What is your guilty pleasure read?<br />
<br />
This is a good question, I'm thinking my guilty pleasure read is probably any kind of steamy romance. I love all kinds of books as long as there is some kind of love story in it, but when I am really feeling down, a good steamy romance can cheer me up any time!

<br style="background-color: white;" /><u style="background-color: white; color: #252525; line-height: 18px;">Here is the question of the week:</u></span><br />
<u style="background-color: white; color: #252525; font-size: 13px; line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></u>
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif; font-size: large;">School is out! What is your favorite Summer Reading book?</span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Hmm, I just started my summer reading tuesday so I don't have many yet this summer. I absolutely LOVE Slammed by Colleen Hoover but I don't really consider that a summery read, I just happend to read it during the summer. </span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">A few summers ago I went to the beach and read a ton of books, of all of those books the ones that stand out are <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/547918.Bass_Ackwards_and_Belly_Up" target="_blank">Bass Ackwards and Belly Up</a> and <a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2103183.Footfree_Fancyloose" target="_blank">Footfree and Fancyloose</a> by Elizabeth Craft. I can't even remember what they are about, other than 3 or 4 girls going their own ways over one summer and each telling their story. It was very much like Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. </span></span><br />
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><br /></span></span>
<span style="background-color: white; line-height: 18px;"><span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;">Since I feel like I have done a terrible job of answering this question, I will go a step further and tell you what book I am most looking forward to reading this summer... Okay there are actually a few, here they are:</span></span><br />
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">-<a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/6936382-anna-and-the-french-kiss" target="_blank">Anna and the French Kiss</a> by Stephanie Perkins </span></span><br />

<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;">-<a href="http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/15505346-on-the-island" target="_blank">On the Island </a>by Tracey Garvis-Graves</span></span><br />

<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><br /></span></span>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #252525; font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;"><span style="line-height: 18px;"><span style="font-size: large;">What is your favorite summer read??</span></span></span></div>
